Dr. Chenelle Kruger Goyen, has over 20 years of lived USA higher education experience, where she was a tennis scholarship recipient, and currently she presents and instructs a series of yearly lectures with NCAA, and USA Embassies in 60 different countries both in-person and online.
Born and raised in South Africa (Afrikaans is her first language), she was one of South Africa’s top ranked junior tennis players, and after matriculating from Waterkloof High School, and the Waterkloof Tennis Academy in Pretoria, South Africa, she took a tennis scholarship in the USA.
She started out as a F1-Visa (now dual citizen with SA and USA) student at Mississippi State University and eventually transferred to Georgia College and State University where she graduated with a Bachelors in Business Administration in Management and International Affairs.
She then attended graduate school at the University of Georgia, in Athens, USA, where she received her Masters in Educational Psychology, and her Ph.D. in Kinesiology: Sport Management and Policy also at the University of Georgia.
Chenelle’s past work experiences includes working in the University of Georgia Athletic Department, as well as the prestigious Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls in South Africa. This dedication reflects her commitment to empowering international students and student-athletes to achieve their academic and athletic goals in the US.
